To vote for Jessica, you will need to vote in the Democratic Runoff. In order to do so, you will need to have registered to vote before April 25th, 2022. Once you’re registered to vote, you can choose to either vote early or on Election Day. Early voting takes place between May 16 – 20, and Election Day is May 24th.

If you’re not sure if you’re registered to vote, you can look up your registration status on the Texas Secretary of State’s “Am I Registered” tool. You’ll just need to enter your name, county of residence, birth date, and zip code. 

Early Voting
You can vote early starting Monday, May 16th, 2022 through the end of the day on Friday, May 20, 2022. You’ll need to bring a photo ID with you when you go to vote. Click here to see voter ID requirements.
You can vote early at any early voting location in the county where you live. The hours of each early voting location will vary, so check your county’s website for more information:
Voting on Election Day

Election Day is Tuesday May 24th, 2022. Polls will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, and you will be able to vote if as long as you are in line by 7:00 pm. You’ll need to bring a photo ID with you when you go vote.


On Election day, if your county has countywide polling places, you can vote at any location in your county of registration. Counties with countywide polling places may include:

Bexar

Comal

Guadalupe

Hidalgo

Medina

If your county does not have countywide polling places you will need to vote at your assigned polling location based on your voting address. You can look up your polling place online here.

Applying for ballot by mail
To be eligible to vote by mail in Texas, you must be:
  • 65 years of age or older on Election Day
  • Sick or Disabled (a sickness or physical condition that prevents you from appearing at the polling place on Election Day without a likelihood of needing personal assistance or of injuring your health)
  • Going to be out of the county during Early Voting and on Election Day
  • You can also vote by mail if you are currently confined in jail, but eligible to vote
 

If you meet the eligibility requirements listed above, you will need to request a ballot by mail by completing an Application for Ballot by Mail and sending it to your County Elections Clerk. You can request an Application for Ballot by Mail online from the Texas Secretary of State or from your County Elections Clerk, or you can call your County Elections clerk and request one.
In order to vote for Jessica in the runoff, you will need to mark the Democratic Party on your application so the county can send you the correct ballot. Applications for Ballot by Mail may be submitted to the County Elections Department anytime, but the deadline to submit it for this runoff is Election Day. In order to vote for Jessica in the runoff, this means your application must be received (not postmarked) by May 13, 2022.

Domestic Ballots by Mail must be received by Election Day at 7:00 P.M. (CST) or by 5:00 P.M. (CST) the next business day if postmarked by 7:00 P.M. (CST) on Election Day.
